Anterior

龈前（音）

One of the features of sound set up by Chomsky and Halle in their distinctive feature theory of phonology, to handle variations in place of articulation (cavity features). Anterior sounds are defined articulatorily as those produced with a stricture in front of the palato-alveolar area in the mouth. Its opposite is non-anterior, referring to sounds produced without such a stricture, as in velar, glottal and vowel sounds.

乔姆斯基和哈勒在其音系学的区别特征理论中确立的语音征之一，用来描写发音位（腔特征）的变异。龈前音从发音上定义为在口腭龈部位前面用制流发出的音。与之对立的是非龈前音，指不通过这样的制流发出的音，如软腭音、喉音和元音。
