       Anaphor

       照应语

A term used in government-binding theory to refer to a type of noun phrase which has no independent reference, but refers to some other sentence constituent (its antecedent). Anaphors include reflexive pronouns, reciprocal pronouns, and np-traces. Along with pronominals and lexical noun phrases(r-expressions), anaphors are of particular importance as part of a theory of binding: in this context, an anaphor must be bound in its governing category.

       管辖与约束理论使用的术语,指一类名词短语没有独立的指称,只能指称句子的某个其他组构成分(即它的先行语)。照应语包括反身代词,相互代词,名词短语语迹。与代名语和词汇名词短语(指称语)一起,照应语是约束理论的一个特别重要的组成部分:按这一理论,照应语必须在它的管辖语类内受约束。
