Opposition

A term used in linguistics to refer to linguistically important differences between units. The term is used primarily in phonology, where contrasts between distinctive features of sound, or between the presence and absence of a feature, are referred to as oppositions.

语言学术语，指单位之间有重要语言学意义的区别。主要用于音系学，如语音区别特征之间的区别，某一特征有和无的区别，都称作对立。
