A French term introduced into linguistics by Ferdinand de Saussure, to distinguish one of the senses of the word “language” (the others being langage and parole).

法语词，瑞土语言学家菲迪南德·德·索绪尔将此术语引入语言学，是为了区分语言 （language）一词的几种涵义（另两种是言语活动和言语）。
