Pro

小代语

A term used in government-binding theory for a non-anaphoric null (phonologically empty) pronominal; known also as little pro, to distinguish it from ‘big PRO’ (see following entry). Usually associated with subject position in finite clauses in pro-drop languages, it is identified through the morphological features present in the sentence.
