Stock Response

定型反应

A derogatory term for a reaction thought to be habitual and stereotyped, in place of one which is genuinely and aptly responsive to a given literary passage or text．The term is sometimes applied to the response of authors themselves to characters, situations, or topics that they set forth in a work; usually, however, it is used to describe standard and inadequate responses of the readers of the work.

该术语带有贬义，指的是一种习惯性的刻板反应，而不是对特定的文学篇章或文本作出的真实而恰当的反应。这个术语有时指作者本人对作品中描绘的人物、情景或主题的反应；但通常用来描述作品读者中规中矩、不恰当的反应。
