新工作

 

 

A: So, Mike, how’s your new job going?

 

A：嗨，迈克，新工作怎么样？

 

 

B: Oh, it’s going well. I really enjoy it.

 

B：一切顺利，我很喜欢。

 

 

A: What company are you working for again?

 

A：你在哪个公司工作来着？

 

 

B: It’s for New Music Radio. I’m the Studio Manager there.

 

B：新音乐电台，我是那儿的播音室主管。

 

 

A: How are the people you work with?

 

A：你的同事怎么样？

 

 

B: My coworkers are all really nice. Everyone is pretty laid-back. They work hard and play hard afterwards.

 

B：他们都很好，也很随和。大家都是努力工作，之后尽情玩耍。

 

 

A: That’s half the battle. There’s nothing worse than working with people you don’t like.

 

A：这才是最重要的。和一群不喜欢的人工作是最糟糕的了。

 

 

B: That’s so true. You probably won’t believe me, but I even get on well with my boss.

A: Do you work regular hours?

 

A：工作时间固定吗？

 

 

B: No, that’s the only downside really. I work forty hours a week over four days. Usually it’s Tuesday to Friday, but sometimes it’s Wednesday to Saturday or Sunday to Wednesday.

 

B：不固定，这是唯一的缺点了。我一周工作4天，40个小时。一般是从周二到周五，但有时候会从周三到周六，或从周日到周三。

 

 

A: Well, it can’t all be perfect. There’s always a compromise somewhere, isn’t there?

B: So true. How’s your job going?

A: It’s the same old, same old, but honestly, mate, I’m really pleased for you. If anyone deserves a good job, it’s you. Congratulations!
