Eliminate Loneliness in 4 Easy Steps

Robriker

You want to eliminate loneliness from your life, right?

You want amazing friends to hike with. You want to be invited for Sunday Funday brunches.

Heck, you’d even be down with a spontaneous weekend to Vegas with the boys!

But where do you begin?

Do you need to get better at reading body language? You heard that asking good questions and listening are important. But aren’t you supposed to be great at telling stories too?

Social dynamics are complex and it’s impossible to learn everything there is to know about them.

You can always improve. But are you improving in the right areas?

This article will clear things up for you. If you want to make new friends – best friends that have your back no matter what – whenever and wherever you want, keep reading.

I’m going to show you the four-step process to follow, without all the extras. Focus on these, and you’ll make new friends in less than a month.

1. Meet People in the Right Places

Where you meet people is way more important than how you meet them, yet no one talks about this.

What’s the point of being great at making friends if you never even meet people you’d want to hang out with?

To find these places, you need to figure out what’s important to you.

What do you enjoy doing? What do you want to learn? What do you want to accomplish?

Then, you want to find groups that will help you do these things.

Are you growing a business? Take a marketing class where you’ll meet others with similar goals.

Do you love playing soccer? Join a soccer team and meet others who do too.

When you meet people in the right places, you’ll meet the right people and they’ll be much more interested in getting to know you.

2. Meet People the Right Way

Have you ever met someone and, ten minutes later, you still feel like strangers? Ugh, that’s the worst.

There’s an easy way around this – get and use their name. It makes the conversation personal very quickly.

But you need to start the conversation first and have a reason for getting their name. Use this process to help you:

Say or ask something relevant to the situation.

Give a reason for introducing yourself.

Get their name.

Here’s an example after joining a Photoshop class:

Rob: Hey there. What do you plan on editing photos for?

Jess: I take family and newborn photos and just want to make my photos look that much better. You?

Rob: Oh cool. I’m here to improve my marketing photos. That awesome that you’re in business for yourself. I always enjoy meeting people who are their own boss. I’m Rob by the way.

Jess: Yeah, I find it interesting too. I’m Jess. Nice to meet you…

You don’t have to move that quickly though. Feel free to talk for a bit about whatever it is you bring up.

Just make sure you say something relevant, give a reason for meeting them, then get their name.

3. Quickly Build a Connection

You’ve probably been here before: You meet someone, talk to them, and that’s it.

No friendship ever develops, even if you really like the person.

Don’t worry, that ends here.

All you have to do is find things that you both can talk passionately about, then have a good time.

And that’s another reason these groups are great places to meet people – because you already have a common interest.

Do these three things:

Be curious. Ask questions and be genuinely interested.

Relate to what they say. If they mention something that you can talk about, share a story, fact, opinion, or feeling about it. Introduce new topics and keep the conversation moving.

Make it fun for the both of you. Mess around. Have high, positive energy. Compliment them. Be dramatic in a fun way.

If you follow these three tips while pursuing common interests, you’ll bond very, very fast.

4. Get Their Phone Number and Hang Out

Okay, you’re building a relationship, but it’s not over yet.

You need to get their phone number, otherwise, all this work will disappear.

So give them a reason for getting it. Like, “Seems like you enjoy kayak. I could hit you up next time I go to the river if you’re interested.”

If they show interest, you’re good to go. Just get their number now.

Then, when you have opportunities to hang out, hit them up. If they say yes, you now have a new friend!

Eliminate Loneliness This Month

Don’t let the simplicity of this process fool you. It’s worked wonders for me and many others.

If you follow the steps and take action, you can easily eliminate loneliness this month. Get out there and give it a go.

Good luck!
