②用作定语。

【1】意见，劝告

 

①【例】With the development of our trade relations, there will be more and more topics of interest to be discussed between us. We are expecting your advice.

随着双方贸易关系的发展，将会有越来越多的有意义的问题有待共同讨论。我们盼望贵方提出意见。

 

②advice后可接用on sth。

【例】You’d better seek the managing director’s advice on all economic matters.

在一切关于经济的事务上，你最好征询常务董事的意见。

 

③这类意义的advice无复数形式，“几项劝告”可以用pieces of advice表示。

【例】He gave me several pieces of advice on the matter.

关于这件事，他给我提出了几项劝告。

 

【2】通知，报告

 

【例】According to the advices from our agent，business is improving.

根据我代理商的报告，业务正日渐好转。

 

【3】under advice (to sb) 同时通知（某人）

 

①【例】Please approach your bank to amend the relative L/C to allow partial shipment, under advice to us.

请联系银行修改有关信用证，允许分批装运，同时通知我方。

 

②下列under advice是under advice to you – the drawee的意思：

【例】We are pleased to confirm that each shipment will be separately charged and that we shall draw on you under advice for the invoice amounts.

我们高兴地确认，每批运出的货物将分别收款，我们按发票金额开出汇票并同时通知受票人。

 

advisable

【1】可取的，明智的

 

①常用作表语或补语。

【例】This course of action is advisable.

这个办法是可取的。

 

②注意下列that从句中，要用should或虚拟语气现在时。

【例】It is advisable that you (should) ship the goods by s.s. “Red Star”.
