【1】修改（通知）书；修改

 

①常与make搭配使用。

【例】In case you like to make some amendments on the terms of the Agreement, please do not hesitate to communicate with us.

如你方要修改协议中条款，请立即同我方联系。

 

②对某某的修改书可说成amendment of 或to sth，用to较普遍。

【例】Upon receipt of your amendment to [of] L/C No.567, we shall immediately make shipment of the goods.

收到第567号信用证的修改书后，我们就会立即装船。

 

【2】修改（行为）

 

①常与make搭配使用。

【例】When you find anything to the contrary in the L/C, please fax us so that we can make amendment accordingly.

如你们发现信用证的内容与此不同，请传真告诉我们以便做相应修改。

 

②常接用介词to。

【例】This item was crossed off the delivery note but the corresponding amendment was not made to the invoice.

此项商品在交货通知单中已经划去，而发票却没有做相应的修改。

不用单数。

【例】We must make amends to you for our fault.

对于我们的过错，我们应向你们赔罪。

 

amicable

友好的；和睦的

 

【例】We hope we can settle this dispute in an amicable way.

我们希望能以友好方式解决此项争端。
