打算，有意

①接用不定式。

【例】What do you intend to buy at the coming Fair?

在即将到来的交易会中，你方打算购买什么？

②接用动名词。

【例】The end-users intend importing a certain quantity of machine tools from France.

用户想从法国进口一些机床。

③接用从句，从句中可用should或虚拟语气现在时。

【例】We intend that an enquiry (should) be sent to the Japanese manufacturers.

我们打算向日本制造商发出询价。

当intend是现在时的时候，可以不用should而用shall。

【例】They intend that this reform shall be carried through this year.

他们打算让这项改革在今年完成。

intense

（性质、感情）强烈的，剧烈的

【例】Market economy is characterized by intense competition among products.

市场经济的特点是产品之间有激烈的竞争。
