A: I heard a rumor this morning…. It seems Morins Corporation is going out of business. Another competitor is going bankrupt. That could be good news for us.

 

A：早上我听到一个传闻……莫林斯公司好像要倒闭了。又一个竞争对手要破产了，这对我们来说可是好消息。

B: I think you must have heard wrong. The truth is we are going to be taken over by Morins. We’re being bought out, and our company will be merging with our largest competitor. It’s not good news at all….

 

B：我想你一定听错了。事实是我们要被莫林斯公司接管了。我们被他们整个收购了，公司就要和我们最大的竞争对手合并了。这根本不是什么好消息……

A: What? We’re merging with Morins? I never thought that would happen. Will we be getting new owners? Will it affect our jobs?

 

A：什么？我们要和莫林斯公司合并？我从来没想到会发生这样的事。我们要有新老板了？这对我们的工作有影响吗？

B: Probably. The new owners will be coming to start alignment meetings next week. One of the big questions is what to call the new conglomerate company.

 

B：可能会有。新老板下周来进行合作会谈。一大问题是新的联合公司叫什么名字。

A: Wow, with such a big change. We won’t even have the same name?

 

A：哇，那么大的变化啊。我们连自己公司的名字都保不住了？

B: It’s not only the name of our company that will change…. I expect that after this acquisition, there’ll be a ton of things up in the air.

B：不光是公司的名字要改……我预计收购后会有一大堆问题悬而未决。
