①【例】If prices are right, we should place a first order for 400 raincoats.

如价格合适，我们第一笔就订购雨衣400件。

 

②注意price前后的惯用介词。

【例】We always sell goods at fair prices.

我们总是按公平价格出售货物。

 

③有许多词语常用作price的前置定语。

【例】We rely on your best efforts to obtain realistic prices.

我们指望你方尽最大努力获得合乎实际的价格。

 

④可带有后置定语。

【例】Your bid is obviously out of line with the price ruling in the present market.

很显然，你方还价与当前行市不符。

 

⑤price作主语时，可搭配作表语的形容词较多。

【例】The market is brisk and the prices remain stable.

市场活跃，价格稳定。

 

注：汉语可说“价格很便宜”，“价格很贵”，而英语price用作主语时，则只能说：

【例】The price is very high [low].

价格很高[低]。

 

⑥作主语时，可搭配作谓语的动词较多。

【例】The cotton price will come down soon.

棉花价格将很快下降。

 

⑦作宾语时，可搭配的动词较多。

【例】We authorize you to cut the prices to any extent you think necessary.

我们授权你们将价格降低到你们认为必要的程度。

 

⑧price可用作定语。

【例】Going over the price list, we found quite a few articles workable.

仔细看过价格单，我们发现好多商品是做得开的。

【例】As far as I know, there are three basic techniques of pricing export products.
