Q: The US Senate yesterday passed the “National Defense Authorization Act 2020” which contains some specific China sections, targeting for example the banning of federal funds from going to any Chinese state-owned company. What is your reaction to this new act?
答：中方对美国国会参院通过包含消极涉华内容的有关法案表示坚决反对。上述法案一旦成法，将损害中美关系，干扰破坏中美在一些重要领域的合作。中方已经就此向美方提出了严正交涉。
A: China firmly opposes the passage through the US Senate of the relevant act that contains negative China-related content. Once the bill becomes law, it will harm China-US relations and disrupt and undermine cooperation in some important areas. China has lodged stern representations with the US.
我们敦促美方摒弃冷战思维和零和博弈过时理念，客观理性看待中国的发展，把握中美关系大势，不得放任包含有消极涉华内容的法案成法，以免损害中美关系大局。
We urge the US to abandon the outdated cold-war mindset and zero-sum game thinking, objectively view China’s development, keep to the overriding trend in China-US relations and not allow any bill that contains negative China-related content to become law, lest it should harm the larger picture of China-US relations.
问：据报道，伊朗、中国、俄罗斯、法国、英国、德国等国代表今天将在维也纳举行伊核协议联合委员会会议。请问中方由谁出席本次会议？对本次会议有何期待？
Q: According to reports, vice foreign ministers from Iran, China, Russia, France, Britain and Germany will hold a meeting of the Joint Commission of the JCPOA today in Vienna. Who from China will attend this meeting? What's China’s expectation for this meeting?
答：外交部军控司负责人将出席6月28日在维也纳召开的伊朗核问题全面协议联合委员会会议。
A: The official in charge of the Department of Arms Control of the Foreign Ministry will attend the meeting of the Joint Commission of the JCPOA in Vienna on June 28.
当前伊核形势持续紧张，有轮番升级的危险。确保全面协议得到完整、有效执行，是安理会决议的要求，也是解决伊核问题、化解中东地区紧张局势的唯一现实有效途径，符合国际社会共同利益。中方作为伊核协议参与方，将继续积极致力于维护和执行全面协议，维护中东地区的和平稳定，维护各方的正当合法权益。中方愿与其他各方共同为此作出努力。
Regarding the Iran nuclear issue, there are continued tensions and risks of a spiral of escalations. To ensure the full and effective implementation of the JCPOA is the requirement of the relevant Security Council resolution and the only viable way to solve the Iranian nuclear issue and ease tensions in the Middle East. It serves the shared interests of the international community. As a party to the JCPOA, China will continue to uphold and implement the deal, safeguard peace and stability in the Middle East and guarantee the legitimate and legal rights and interests of all parties. China stands ready to work with all other parties to this end.
问：去年在瑙鲁召开的太平洋岛国论坛今年8月将在图瓦卢召开。你能否先介绍一些细节以及中方参会情况？
Q: The Pacific Islands Forum (PIF), which happened last year in Nauru, is happening in Tuvalu in August this year. Do you have any details on China’s participation at this forum?
答：太平洋岛国论坛是重要的地区政府间组织，长期以来为促进岛国可持续发展，维护岛国地区的和平稳定发挥了重要作用。
A: As an important regional inter-governmental organization, the Pacific Islands Forum has all along played a vital role in promoting regional sustainable development, peace and stability.
中方重视发展同太平洋岛国及太平洋岛国论坛的关系，愿同论坛方面共同努力，推动中国同论坛及其成员国关系持续深入发展，更好地造福双方人民。至于中方参与情况，就像你刚才所说，这次会议要到8月份才召开，我们会适时发布消息。
China attaches importance to relations with the PIF as well as Pacific island countries and stands ready to work with the PIF to promote the sustained and in-depth development of the relationship with the PIF and its members to bring more benefits to the people. As to the details about China’s participation in the PIF this year, we will release information in due course as, like you mentioned, this event is not due until August.

Q: When meeting with Prime Minister Abe yesterday, President Xi talked about his visit to the DPRK last week. Could you offer more details?

A: China has released a readout on the meeting between President Xi and Prime Minister Abe. An official from the MFA’s Department of Asian Affairs has also offered detailed information which you may refer to.
至于半岛问题，我提醒你注意，中方消息稿有这样一句话，安倍首相表示，日方高度赞赏习近平主席日前访问朝鲜，认为这次访问为推动半岛的和平稳定发挥了重要建设性作用。
Regarding the Korean Peninsula, I would like to draw your attention to a line in the readout that says Prime Minister Abe expressed Japan’s deep appreciation of President Xi’s recent visit to the DPRK, which he believed played an important and constructive role in facilitating peace and stability on the Peninsula.
问：中韩双方各自发布的、关于两国领导人会晤的消息稿对朝鲜半岛南北双方关系改善的表述有所不同，你能否证实，对此有何评论？
Q: There are different wordings regarding the improvement of inter-Korean relations in the readouts released by China and the ROK after the meeting between leaders of the two sides. Can you confirm that? What’s your comment?
答：昨天习近平主席在大阪同文在寅总统会晤后，中方发布了消息稿，我想你已经看到了。韩方的消息稿，我还没有来得及阅读，也没有对比双方消息稿有什么差别。但我想，对同一场会晤，双方都会从自己的理解出发来介绍情况，发布的消息稿不一定每一个字都一样。
A: The Chinese side issued a readout after President Xi Jinping met with President Moon Jae-in in Osaka yesterday, and I believe you may have seen that. I have yet to run through the readout released by the ROK side, so I’m not aware of any differences between the two readouts. But I think the two sides would describe the same meeting according to their understandings respectively, and they may not necessarily use the same words for everything.
据我了解，中韩领导人的会晤取得成功，在会晤期间双方确实就半岛局势交换了意见。习近平主席介绍了他访问朝鲜的情况，文在寅总统表示，习主席此访为推动半岛对话势头和维护半岛和平稳定发挥了建设性作用，作出了重要贡献，韩方对此表示高度赞赏。
According to my information, the meeting between the Chinese and ROK leaders is very successful and the two sides did exchange views on the situation on the Korean Peninsula. President Xi Jinping briefed President Moon Jae-in on his visit to the DPRK, and President Moon said President Xi’s visit played a constructive role in and made important contributions to promoting the momentum for dialogue and upholding peace and stability on the Peninsula. The ROK highly appreciates that.
关于半岛局势，中韩之间一直保持着密切的沟通和协调。对于朝鲜半岛北南双方之间的和平、和解与合作，中方始终持积极态度。
Regarding the situation on the Peninsula, China and the ROK have all along maintained close communication and coordination. China always keeps a positive attitude towards peace, reconciliation and cooperation between the DPRK and the ROK.
问：明天习近平主席将会见美国总统特朗普，中方对此次会晤有何期待？
Q: Tomorrow President Xi will meet with President Trump. What does China expect from the meeting?
答：最近，对即将在大阪举行的中美元首会晤，国际媒体有很多报道、评论与猜测，这反映了国际社会对此次会晤的高度关注，也反映出各方都希望看到中美双方通过对话协商来化解彼此在经贸领域的一些分歧。同时，也证明中美关系的重要性已经超越双边范畴，对世界的和平稳定与发展繁荣具有重要意义。
A: Lately there has been a large amount of international media coverage, comments and speculations on the upcoming meeting between the Chinese and US heads of state in Osaka. It shows that the international community is paying close attention to the meeting and all hope to see the two sides resolving trade differences through dialogue and consultation. It also manifests that China-US relations have gone beyond the bilateral scope and are of great significance to peace, stability, development and prosperity of the world.
