①后面紧接形容词或副词。

【例】We refuse, however favourable the conditions.

不管条件如何优惠，我们都拒绝接受。

 

②有时兼起连接词作用。

【例】However hard you try, you won’t be able to secure that big order alone.

无论你方多么努力，独自一家商号也不能获得那份庞大的订单。

①可置于句首。

【例】Regarding our Order No.200, we have received the 10 cases. However, there are discrepancies between the actual contents and your packing list.

关于我方第200号订单，我们已收到货物10箱；然而箱内货物与装箱单不符。

 

②可置于句末或句中。

【例】The required L/C will be opened after receipt of your S/C. Emphasis has, however, to be laid on the point that shipment must be made within the validity of our L/C.

所需信用证将于收到你方销售确认书后开出。然而应该强调的是，必须在信用证有效期限内进行装船。
