【1】订单，订货，订购

 

①【例】Different orders will be shipped by the same steamer.

所订的不同货物皆由同一船只运出。

 

②（提出或接受）订购某商品用for sth。

【例】If your price is workable, we shall place a trial order with you for 50 cases of black tea.

如你方价格做得开，我们可向贵方提出试订货红茶50箱。

 

③可与order搭配使用的动词甚多，有些因主语和意义不同要使用不同的动词。顾客为主语时，常说give [place, send] an order；代理商、代表为主语时，常说take [book] an order；制造商为主语时，常说receive an order。

【例】We hope you can give us an order soon.

希望迅速交来订单。

 

④可用作定语。

【例】An arbitration clause is printed on the order form.

订货单上印有仲裁条款。

 

【2】命令

 

多用复数形式表示单数的意义。

【例】We shall immediately give orders to the factory for the consignment to be prepared.

我们将立即通知工厂将货备妥。

 

【3】汇单，汇票

 

【例】We suggest that for this trial order, you let us have a demand draft or a postal money order.

对这笔试销订货，我们建议你方寄给我们即期汇票或邮政汇票。

 

【4】for the sake of good order, for good order’s sake为使手续完备起见

 

【例】For good order’s sake, the sellers sent the sales contract to the buyers to be signed.

为使手续完备起见，卖方将销售合同寄给了买方，要求签字。

 

【5】in (good) order 状况良好，符合要求

 

多用作表语和补语。

【例】Please fax immediately if it is not in order.

【6】in order… 以便，为了

 

①接用不定式动词。

【例】In order to help you to develop business in this line, we are prepared to offer you a discount of 5 percent.

为帮助你方发展这一行业的生意，我们愿提供5%的折扣。

 

②接用that从句。

【例】Please despatch the ordered goods immediately in order that we may receive them before Christmas.

请立即发运所定的货物以便我们圣诞节之前收到该货。

 

【7】in… order状况……（如何）

 

【例】The consignment arrived in bad order with many bags torn and leaking.

到货情况不好，有很多袋破损、渗漏。

 

【8】in [of] the order of，AmE on the order of大约

 

【例】His income is of the order of £4000 a year.

他的收入大约是每年4000英镑。

 

【9】make… to… order订做，订制

 

①【例】If you are so desirous, we should be pleased to make these articles to your special order.如你方要求，我们乐意为你方特别订做这些产品。

 

②过去分词made to order可后置作定语（前置时应写作made-to-order)。

【例】We can supply lathes made to order.

我们能够供应订做的车床。

 

【10】on order已订但尚未发货

 

【例】We are temporarily out of the parts you need for your tractor type T-80. We have them on order and are expecting them very soon.

你方所需T-80型拖拉机的零配件暂时无货，我们已订货，可望不久来货。

 

【11】on the order of跟……相似

 

【例】Our country is in the midst of an economic transformation on the order of the Industrial Revolution in the West.

我国正处在一个与西方工业革命相类似的经济改革之中。

 

【12】to (one’s) order, to the order of… 凭……指示，以……为抬头

 

【例】Drafts are to be drawn in duplicate to our order.

开出的汇票应以我方为抬头，一式两份。

 

【13】订购（货物）

 

①【例】But first, you have to give us an idea of the quantity you wish to order.

不过首先你方得告诉我们，你方想要订购的大概数量。

 

②可接用from sb。

【例】We regret that the articles you wish to order from us have been sold out.

很遗憾，你方想自我方订购的那些货物已经售完。
