①常与数字连用，可用%表示。

【例】As for the price, the increase of 10 percent is too much.

至于价格，增加10%是太多了。

 

②可用作定语。

【例】Will you quote us on FOB or C&F basis with a 3 percent commission?

请报给我们FOB或C&F价，包括有3%的佣金，好吗？

 

③可用作状语。

【例】We are 100 percent in agreement with you.

我们完全同意你方意见。

 

④主语中有percent，其谓语动词可视情况用单数或复数。

【例】Three percent interest is the usual rate.

3%的利息是通常的利率。

②前面用不定冠词时，可译成“部分”。

A: Are dividends always paid in cash? B: Not always. Sometimes a percentage[proportion] is paid in cash and the rest in shares.

甲：股利常用现金支付吗？乙：不经常是。有时候一部分用现金支付，其余部分折算发给股票。

【例】He is paid a percentage on orders he gets for the firm.
