A: After reviewing your monthly reports, it looks like we have a surplus of goods. Is this correct?

 

A：看了你的月度报告，似乎我们的货有积压了，对吗？

 

 

B: Yes, we have been accumulating too much inventory this quarter.

 

B：是的。本季度我们积压了大量的库存。

 

 

A: What can you do to move the stock?

 

A：为了减少库存，你准备做些什么？

 

 

B: Well, the first thing we’ll have to do is to get rid of some of the stock by having a sale. If we don’t get rid of it soon, it will expire and we won’t even be able to sell it at cost.

 

B：嗯，我们首先要做的是通过降价促销，减少部分库存。如果我们无法尽快售出这些库存，产品就会过期，那时想要以成本价出售也不可能了。

 

 

A: That’s a good idea. What else can we do?

 

A：好主意。还能怎么做呢？

 

 

B: I’m going to contact the suppliers to see if we can shorten the time between orders. Perhaps we can place orders every month instead of every quarter while we review the need for the products.

 

B：我会与供货商联系看看能否缩短订货间隔时间。或许我们可以改为按月采购，而不是按季度采购，这样我们就能每月核对产品需求。

 

 

A: That sounds sensible. How about the time it takes to deliver the stock? Can that be shortened?

 

A：你说得很有道理。那送货时间呢？这也能缩短吗？

 

 

B: I will inquire about that, too.

 

B：我也会问问这件事。

 

 

A: That’s great. Report back in a month and, if needed, we will look at how we can streamline the process further. I’m fairly confident that smaller orders and faster delivery schedules will do the trick, but if not, we may need to look at finding a more reliable supplier.

 

A：很好。一个月之后给我反馈报告。需要的话，到时候我们会研究一下如何进一步简化流程。我确信小额的订单与更快的送货速度会有效地减少库存。如果不行，我们可能就要考虑寻找更可靠的供应商了。
