A: How is the project going?

 

A：项目进展如何？

 

 

B: Well, we’ve actually just had quite a setback.

 

B：嗯，其实我们延误了工期。

 

 

A: What happened?

 

A：怎么回事？

 

 

B: The development team that we had contracted to do the job walked out on Friday.

 

B：星期五，同我们签约的开发商中途退出了。

 

 

A: You’re kidding! That’s quite unprofessional. What does that mean for the budget?

 

A：开玩笑吧！这严重违反了职业道德。那预算会受到什么影响？

 

 

B: Well, they’ve only half-finished the project and we paid them upfront, so we don’t have any money to pay another development team.

 

B：嗯，他们只完成了一半项目，而我们预付了费用，所以没有钱聘用其他开发商了。

 

 

A: Sounds like you’re having some major financial problems. What are you going to do?

B: Well, the legal team is pretty confident that we’ll be able to get some of that money back, but it will take time. In the meantime, we’ll need to borrow some money from a bank.

A: Have you discussed a loan with the finance team yet?

B: I’ve asked them to look into it for me. They should have more details later this week.

A: They’ll probably do that by applying for an increase in the credit they already have.

B: I don’t think it will be a problem. It will cut into our profits slightly, but it should be OK after the legal team sorts out the mess with the development team.
