A: How did your company fundraiser go?

 

A：你们公司的集资活动进展如何？

 

 

B: The fundraiser events went really well. We were able to partner with a few of our competitors, all in fun of course, to sponsor a marathon for the American Cancer Society. All of the people who participated had a great time, and we were able to raise a lot of money to contribute to cancer research.

 

B：集资活动进行得非常顺利。我们能够非常高兴地与我们的几家竞争对手合作，赞助美国癌症协会举办的马拉松比赛。所有参加活动的人都玩得非常开心，而且我们也为癌症研究筹集到了很多钱。

 

 

A: So how did it work? How were you able to make money with a marathon?

B: Each of the runners that participated in the marathon race paid a ten dollar entrance fee. Also, they went door-to-door to get sponsors who pledged a dollar per mile that the participants ran. All in all we were able to raise several thousand dollars.

 

B：每个参加马拉松比赛的运动员都要交10美元的入场费。此外，他们还挨家挨户地找赞助人，要他们许诺参赛者每跑1英里就给1美元。总而言之，我们就这样筹集到了几千美元。

 

 

A: Sounds like a great deal for the American Cancer Society.

B: In all honesty, it’s also a great deal for our company. The exposure that we gained from sponsoring an event like this was great for our image in the community. We accomplished as much as last year’s advertising campaign, plus we were able to do a little fundraising for a good cause.

 

B：坦白地说，对我们公司来说好处也不少。通过赞助这样的活动我们所得到的出镜率对我们在社区的形象非常重要。我们得到的广告收益跟去年一样多。此外，我们还为慈善事业筹集了一些钱。
