PART Ⅵ  WRITING

With intelligent machines to do the thinking, will our brains get lazy?

Changing technology may stimulate the brain and increase intelligence. This has frightened some people, because they think our brains will regress because of the perfect job done by the artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence is taking over many human jobs now and the intelligent machines can already outperform humans. As they get smarter, they will do more of our thinking for us and make life easier. Will it become a reality that one day we humans stop thinking and be taken over by these intelligent machines? In my opinion, I don’t think that day will come.

Firstly, machines, can or cannot think, are designed and made by humans. They are the products of human mind. Though they may outperform humans in some way, when they are in malfunction, humans are needed to fix them and improve them. Secondly, living in a more comfortable and easier society and environment brought by the help of intelligent machines, people can use their brains to do other things that haven’t been dealt with in the past. With the development of technology, people can focus on dealing with various new challenges and problems appearing in the future or on a higher level without spending their time, money and energy on some trivial things.

Generally speaking, intelligent machines won’t take over human brains but make a more challenging environment for the new development of human mind.
