【1】有资格，达到标准
①可接用for。
【例】Employees on low incomes may qualify for special heating allowance.
低工资的雇员有条件领取特殊取暖补贴。
②可接用as。
【例】They do not qualify as impartial arbitrators.
他们不够做公正仲裁员的资格。
【2】使……有资格[条件]，使……胜任
qualify宾语（sb）后可接用动词不定式，句式：qualify sb to do sth。
【例】I’m sorry to say, this promotion does not qualify you to sign company cheques.
抱歉地说，像这次提升（职务）并不能使你有资格签署公司的支票。
【3】质量
①【例】We are confident that we shall increase the quality of our products.

②of… quality常用作表语。
【例】All of our products are of first quality.

quantity
【1】数量
用作不可数名词。
【例】Our customers prefer quality to quantity.
我们的客户重质过于重量。
【2】数量
用作可数名词。
【例】Please offer quantities which can be supplied from stock.
请报来可供现货的数量。
【3】大量，大宗
①【例】We understand you are in need of a (large) quantity [quantities] of ammonium sulphate, and wish to have a share in this business.
我们得知你方需要大量硫酸铵，我们希望能参与这项交易。
②可用作定语。
【例】Is there a discount on quantity purchase?

【1】四分之一
【例】Your commission would be 25%, one quarter of the selling price.
