【1】仁慈地，忠厚地（在外贸书信中，可理解为“出于好意地”）

 

①【例】Your company has been introduced to us by Messrs. Freeman & Co., Ltd. Lagos, as a prospective buyer of Chinese garments.

承蒙拉各斯的弗里曼有限公司介绍，贵公司是可能购买中国服装的买主。

 

②外贸中有时见到you are kindly requested (by us) to…，这类句子有人认为kindly是误用的。

【例】On receipt of our L/C, you are kindly requested to effect immediate shipment.

接到我方信用证后，请立即装船。

外贸中常见用kindly代替please。例如：

【例】Will you kindly inform us if you would be prepared to grant us the exclusive agency for your radios in Canada?

请告知贵方是否愿将贵方收音机在加拿大的独家代理权授予我方。

【例】Thank you very kindly.

向你们致以衷心的感谢。

【1】knock about碰撞

 

【例】These machines have been knocked about.

这些机器受过碰撞。

 

【2】knock down（机器、家具等）拆散，拆卸

 

 

【例】The furniture has been knocked down for the buyer to put it together himself.

家具已被拆散了，以便买主能自己装起来。

 

【3】knock down使……减价

 

后面接用分词to（价格）。

【例】The price was knocked down to RMB 3 000 yuan a piece.

价格减到每件3000元人民币。

 

【4】knock down（拍卖）敲定，售出

 

①【例】The second-hand car was knocked down at $1 000.

该二手车敲定以1000元售出。

 

②可接用介词to（某人）。

【例】The second-hand car was knocked down to Mr. Smith for $1 000.

该二手车敲定卖给史密斯先生，售价1000元。

 

【5】knock off减价

 

【例】If you knock off ten dollars, I’ll take it.

如果你减价10元，我就买下了。
