①无复数形式。

【例】We have studied with interest the literature you sent us with your letter of 24th March.

我们饶有兴趣地研究了你方3月24日寄来的商品资料。

②literature为商业文字宣传品的统称，常有下列各种：

manual产品手册；catalogue目录，产品目录；illustrated catalogue有插图的目录；pamphlet [booklet，brochure]小册子；leaflet单张说明书，广告单；folder折叠式印刷品；bulletin（产品）简报；data sheet（产品）数据表等。

各个行业另有专用的宣传品，如纺织业中有：sample cuttings剪样；sample book [booklet]样本（此为剪样标上号码装订成册的样本，与一般统称的商业宣传材料的“样本”不同）；pattern book（绸缎的）花型本等。
